SGLN UPDATE MARCH 1, 2023
FROM THE CHAIR

I’m thrilled to announce that the South Gippsland Landcare Fund has received a $10,000 donation from the Australian Plants Society. This generous gift will be combined with the money that flowed into the Fund over Christmas for our carbon capture program and will be used to restore koala habitat.
We are also very grateful to local Leongatha business, TreeX Tree Services, which donates all money received from selling trailer loads of mulch to SGLN. This is on top of supporting our popular Pedal and Plant tree planting days. You can read more about Treex’s offer below.

All the events we have run this year have been really well attended including our woody weeds workshop at Meeniyan and the soil erosion workshop at Hallston.

Another event that I’m sure will be popular is the Gippsland Deer Forum that we are hosting in conjunction with Victorian Deer Control Community Network and the South Gippsland Shire Council. The Forum gathers together speakers from across Victoria with practical experience in controlling feral deer. Numbers are limited to please register as soon as possible.

Regards, Jillian Staton
