SGLN UPDATE – APRIL 2026
I am delighted to announce that Morgan Stevens has joined SGLN as Landcare Facilitator: Community Engagement. Morgan is an active member of the Corner Inlet Landcare Group and impressed us with her background in small business, agriculture and volunteerism. Her official start date is 20 April, but she has very generously offered to help us out with the many Victorian Landcare Grants that we and our Groups are pulling together this month.
Morgan will be the first point of contact for all our Groups across the Network, allowing Jane to focus on Strategy and Governance. Nick is delivering the Trees on Farm project and will hopefully continue to be engaged on a project-by-project basis into the future.
On a sad note, Gil Freeman, a long-standing and deeply valued member of the Arawata Landcare Group, has died after a short illness. Gil, alongside his wife Meredith, offered informed, thoughtful and generous contributions to Landcare in South Gippsland and will be missed by all who had the privilege of working alongside him.
On behalf of the Network, I extend our deepest condolences to Meredith and the family at this difficult time.
