🌿 July SGLN Update

I am pleased to announce that South Gippsland Landcare Network has committed to proceeding with the remaining works for the development of a Biolinks Map for South Gippsland.
So far with James Garden and Yasmin Kelsall we’ve started the project, including holding a workshop in Leongatha with members of the BPP stakeholder group, and reps from SGLN groups. We held a public online info session too (see the video from this here). The online habitat extent mapping is underway, and thanks to all who provided lots of great feedback about habitat across the region (the feedback period is now over).
The next step is a comprehensive literature and data review, preparing habitat and landcover maps, and seeking advice on the species guilds we’ll be using from relevant experts. Once all the info gathering is complete towards the end of the year the modelling process will begin. Our aim is to have a final report and map complete by the middle of 2026.

Regards,
Jillian Staton, SGLN Chair
