TURN YOUR TRASH INTO TREES!

South Gippsland Landcare Network invites community to contribute to koala habitat via Victoria’s Container Deposit Scheme.

South Gippsland Landcare Network is thrilled to introduce a new way to turn your trash (specifically your cans and bottles) into trees. Through Victoria’s Container Deposit Scheme, you can choose that the 10 cents you are entitled to receive for each eligible drink container deposited at a refund point is donated to the South Gippsland Landcare Network. Every cent donated will go towards tree plantings for koala and wildlife habitat in South Gippsland.

How it works: It’s as easy as 1,2,3:

  1. Collect eligible drink containers
  2. Find your refund point
  3. Donate your refund – simply set South Gippsland Landcare Network Inc as your chosen charity in your CDS app

Every Cent Counts: 100% of the donations received will be dedicated to tree plantings, ensuring the preservation and expansion of koala and wildlife habitat in South Gippsland.

South Gippsland Landcare Network Chair, Jillian Staton said: “It’s great to see the government giving the community a real incentive to recycle their trash. I encourage you and your kids to collect as many eligible containers as possible and return them to the refund point so that we can reduce waste and help local wildlife.”

Get Involved: Join us in turning trash into trees. Together, we can make a significant difference in our community and contribute to a healthier environment for wildlife.
