Wetland Planting and Invertebrate Exploration

September 13 @ 10:00 am - 1:30 pm

Planting trees in soft, wet areas is easy and fun! Wear your gumboots and come along to help us turn this boggy paddock area into habitat for frogs, waterbirds and lots more.

We will also use our new vacuum tool, the “critter collector,” to see which pasture bugs are living around the wetland and in the nearby multispecies field. Learn a little about pasture bugs and how you can monitor them at home.

What to expect

  • Planting grasses and shrubs in a wet area
  • Demonstration of how to use the “critter collector” to explore invertebrate life in the surrounding pasture
  • Using a microscope for a closer look

Lunch and refreshments provided. Please email dietary requirements to kirby@sgln.net.au
