Map Your Weeds! – Google Earth and Google My Maps workshop + weed control advice

May 21 @ 11:30 am - 2:30 pm

In this workshop, you’ll learn the basics of Google Earth mapping and how this technology can help you manage and track weed control.

Our presenter Michele Sabto has over 20 years of experience using mapping software and teaching others how to use it.

Participants will learn how to:

  • Create maps of planned works in Google Earth and Google My Maps including drawing polygons.
  • Mark sections of their property requiring weed control.
  • Add placemark labels and organise folders.
  • Export, convert, compress and resize maps and files.
  • Share maps with others.

What to bring:

Please bring your own laptops, and download Google Earth onto your computers in preparation for the workshop. You are encouraged to bring along weeds samples for identification, and get advice on chemical and non-chemical control methods.

This workshop is limited to 20 people to ensure that everyone has the chance to ask questions and get advice on their own project ideas.
