Knowing Nyora’s Orchids

October 27 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Discover the beauty of Wuchatsch Reserve,  home to many unique and incredible orchids that are not always easily seen.

Led by South Gippsland Shire Weeds Education Officer Amanda Christie, during this walk we will explore the reserve and learn about the orchids, other native flora and the weeds that can threaten them. Maybe we will even learn how to pronounce Wuchatsch!

While we wander around the walking path for those that are able and willing, we will do some easy hand weeding.

Amanda has extensive knowledge of native plants and weeds and can also offer weed control advice for your property.

What to expect on the day

  • Walking approximately 1.5 kms at a slow and easy pace
  • Easy hand weeding (optional)
  • Help with plant and weed ID
  • Morning tea

Please wear sturdy footwear and long pants. Please bring gardening gloves, hand trowel and a keep cup for tea/coffee
