Monitoring the damage caused by deer

Being able to recognise and assess the amount of damage caused by deer is vital to developing a
successful control program. This hands-on workshop will give you the tools to establish an ongoing monitoring program to estimate the impact of your local deer population and monitor to changes over time.
What to expect?
● Shannon Evendon, the National Deer Management Support Officer in Biosecurity
South Australia’s Invasive Species and Ami Bennett, Melbourne University, will deliver the workshop
● learn how to recognise and measure the signs of damage to vegetation caused by deer
● learn how to use the data from your monitoring program to inform your control program
● set up a monitoring site on a nearby property
● lunch provided.
