DESCRIPTION:Its weed control time!\nBlackberry is one of the top weeds worrying people in South Gippsland. \nIf you have blackberry on your property and you want expert advice on the best ways to manage it please come along to this free event. \nOur key speaker Dr Robin Air from the Victorian Blackberry Taskforce has 30 plus years experience in research and control of invasive weeds. He has extensive knowledge in the use of pesticides and fire as a management tool. While this event has a blackberry focus Robin’s vast experience means he can offer advice on how to manage almost any weed so please bring along your weed and your weed questions.\nWeather permitting we will also have a drone demonstration. \nKatie Robinson from Agriculture Victoria will speak about weed classifications\, the role Ag Vic has in biosecurity and the enforcement of weed control legislation. \nLunch and refreshments provided. DESCRIPTION:SGLN AGM & Book Launch!\n2025 marks 30 years of SGLN and to celebrate\, we are holding our AGM at Fleet Wines and will launch the Our Quiet Achievers book.\nAll SGLN members are warmly invited to attend SGLN’s Annual General Meeting\, with special guests LVI CEO Claire Hetzel and Member for East Melbourne and Group Secretary of the Victorian Parliamentary Friends of Landcare\, Tom McIntosh. \nThe ordinary business of the meeting:\n\nconfirm the minutes of the 2024 AGM held on 15 October 2024\nreceive the 2024-25 Annual Report\nreceive and consider the financial statements submitted by the Board to members in accordance with s.100(1) of the Associations Incorporation Reform Act 2012\nset the annual subscription fee\nelect up to five (5) ordinary Board members\nelect the Executive Board members\n\nVoting\nFinancial members of SGLN Landcare Groups are entitled to vote at the meeting in person or by proxy. Completed proxy forms must be received by the Secretary (secretary@board.sgln.net.au) no later than 5:00pm\, Friday 24 October 2025. \nFinancial members may also nominate for Board positions. Her diverse skill set has been honed working across landscape restoration\, urban forestry and urban agriculture\, In December 2023\, Claire was officially appointed as CEO of LVI. \nTom McIntosh\nBefore entering Parliament\, Tom grew up the son of a shearer and teacher on the family farm. Since August 2022\, Tom has represented Eastern Victoria in the Legislative Council and wrote the Foreword for the Our Quiet Achievers book publication. \n  \n  \n
