DESCRIPTION:Attention fishing and river enthusiasts! \nJoin South Gippsland Landcare Network along with Austral Consulting for a live electrofishing demonstration and discover what fish species call the Tarwin River home. \nElectrofishing is a safe and effective method that uses an electric current to temporarily stun fish\, helping scientists understand fish populations and improve habitats. This family-friendly event offers a rare opportunity to learn about river health\, water quality\, and the native aquatic life of the Tarwin River. \nThe West Gippsland Catchment Management Authority will be there to share river knowledge and answer any questions. \nA light lunch will also be provided. \nREGISTER HERE! \nWe can’t wait to see you there! \nFor further info\, please email morgan@sgln.net.au \nThis event is made possible by the West Gippsland Catchment Management Authority and OzFish.

Join us for a free community planting event at the Great Southern Rail Trail\, Nyora\, on National Tree Day! \nWe will be planting 1\,500 native plants along the trail\, starting in the morning and finishing in time for a free lunch! There will also be tree guard decorating for the kids! \nFurther details and registration coming soon. \nThis event is proudly co-hosted by South Gippsland Landcare Network\, Loch-Nyora Landcare Group and South Gippsland Shire Council\, with financial support through Vic Landcare Grants via Melbourne Water.
