DESCRIPTION:We are supporting a Poowong beef farmer with two on-farm demonstration sites: creating a wetland in a boggy paddock\, and fencing a threatened Strzelecki Gum paddock tree. \nJoin us to see what’s planned for these sites and how we’re going about it — plus the chance to explore a sustainable\, resilient\, and productive farm in action. \nREGISTER HERE \nWhat to expect \n\nWetland Ecologist David Carew will walk us through the plan to transform a boggy\, unproductive paddock into a seasonal wetland.\nEcologist Alison Oates will guide you through identifying local eucalypts — including the threatened Strzelecki Gum and Southern Bluegum — and discuss the benefits of fencing off paddock trees for long-term shade and biodiversity.\nProperty owner Scott Bentleigh will share his experience growing multispecies crops and integrating agroforestry on his property.\n\nLunch and refreshments included.
